To Nonprofit Online News' 2004 Spring Forward Fundraising Campaign!

Over the years we have accepted donations in support of our work, and for a time we framed that as an annual donation of sorts, but we have never launched a genuine fundraising campaign in support of a particular goal. Those of you who have stepped forward over the years to support us, despite our quiet ways, have inspired us to launch a real campaign for improvements to Nonprofit Online News.

Last year, after talking with several of my colleagues in the field, I was reminded again of what a remarkable resource Nonprofit Online News is. I also learned, from the feedback that I received in these conversations, that it is a terribly underdeveloped resource. My colleagues thought that the impact that we could have on the sector could be much greater, if only we would make some investments toward that end.

Please consider donating to our campaign today!

Our campaign goals are to raise a modest amount of money toward improvements and, just as importantly, to learn what our donors most want to see improved. We don't want to overreach with this first effort. The amount we raise will no doubt represent only a portion of the total cost, but will provide a critical supplement to the resources we have at hand. The improvements will be implemented over the course of a few months following the campaign.

After making a donation you will be redirected to a survey that asks you to rank potential improvements to Nonprofit Online News. At the end of the campaign we will tally the votes and report to you on the results.

At the end of the fundraising campaign we will make an announcement about the results of the Improvement Survey, and then we will make report on our progress monthly.
