Business Process Patents Overturned

Here's some incredibly good news: By a 6 to 3 margin, a U.S. federal appeals court Overturned the Validity of Business Process Patents. The cancer of these sorts of patents was widespread, infecting nonprofit technology in dozens of ways. Finally, this returns us to the day when basic principles could not be owned. I don't think the decision (which I've only just skimmed) goes far enough, but it's a step in the right direction. Christian Science Monitor to End Daily Print Edition
	After a hundred years of daily publication, The Christian Science Monitor Will End Its Daily Print Edition. This is an amazing marker in the media transition we're all going through. The encouraging detail that stood out for me was the paper's desire to keep its eight excellent foreign bureaus open. We need all the good reporting we can get these days.
