Free Micro Seminar on Aug, 12, 2008: Online Social Networks Are Not Mailing Lists: But If Not That, What Are They?

Because of the interest generated by my recent article entitled Online Social Networks Are Not Mailing Lists, we've decided to make that the topic of another new online seminar format. In a rapid fire, ten to fifteen minute format I will build on the ideas from the article, address objections, and suggest a few alternative points of view. The workshop will be held online at 12:15 (PDT) on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Because attendance is limited you still have to sign up. If you don't get into the live session, we'll make sure there is a back up option.

Short Seminar on Sept. 17, 2008: Money on the Table: The Financial Opportunity of Converting Your Stakeholders to Email

Civil society organizations are spending billions of dollars on paper, printing, and postage communicating with people who would rather talk to them online. Although postal programs are not dying off any time soon, their inertia is such that it's almost impossible to stop spending that portion of their budgets that could be saved by moving some communication online. One of the major elements of this inertia is how nonprofit accounting practices don't make it easy to identify the money that could be saved and the programmatic implications of saving it. We're addressing this topic with a new workshop called Money on the Table: The Financial Opportunity of Converting Your Stakeholders to Email. It will be delivered on September 17, 2008 and will use a new thirty minute format at a substantially lower cost than our regular seminars.

Seminar on Sept 10, 2008: Building Your Online List: A High Integrity Model for Reaching Large Numbers on the Internet

Nonprofit organizations don't want to be spammers, but many of them are flirting with it in how they handle their online list building. Others are stuck with online strategies that might pay off, if only they could reach more people. We've been answering this challenge for many years now, in our publications and workshops, but we've never put together all our ideas in one place. Now we are. On September 10, 2008, we'll be conducting a single, ninety-minute online seminar entitled Building Your Online List: A High Integrity Model for Reaching Large Numbers on the Internet. We address how to put together affordable methods into a coherent strategy for building your list, with both short term payoff and long term integrity.
