Rob Johnston has some thoughtful remarks about the recent Amazon.com Nonprofit Innovation Award finalists. He notices that all the organizations are relatively mature and I share his sense that innovation doesn't only occur in established groups. He's also not sure that the ability to raise money (which will determine the winner) is the way to select among them. I certainly don't see how it has much to do with how innovative they are. But like me, he thinks this is a step in the right direction for Amazon and encourages you to look over the finalists and consider making a donation.
As fallout of the unfortunate tension between local public radio stations and content producers, it looks like National Public Radio will only podcast part of their programs. The Internet has brought an end to the broadcast monopoly of local stations and it's time for them to focus on the real strengths that derive from their geographical connections.
