CNCS Availability of Funds for Next Generation Grants

Microsoft's Community-Based Technology and Learning Centers

As I have often reported here, open source software has made great headways in the poorer parts of the world. It is precisely these regions that are being targetted by Microsoft's Community-Based Technology and Learning Centers grantmaking program. As far as I can tell, the company plans on subsidizing their platform to the tune of a billion dollars in those markets.

Neiman Reports Fall 2003
